Survey: Shutdown hurt small vendors’ trust in government
35% “extremely worried” about another shutdown
The 35-day shutdown of most non-defense federal agencies in December and January has caused many small business federal contractors to lose some of their trust in the government as a reliable customer, according to Set-Aside Alert’s latest survey of 166 small vendors.
In the survey, 42% of the respondents said that before the shutdown they felt “full trust” or very nearly full trust in the government as a reliable customer.
Only 30% of the respondents said they felt full trust or very nearly full trust after the shutdown.
The survey indicated that before the shutdown, the average level of distrust in the government as a customer was 3.7 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 representing complete lack of trust. After the shutdown, the average level of distrust was 5.2 on the scale...more....
