U. S. CAPITOL UNDER SIEGE
EDITOR’S NOTE: The horrific attack on Jan. 6 against the U.S. Capitol, in which hundreds of elected officials and staff were forced to rush to safe rooms or hide in offices while hearing shouts of “Hang Mike Pence!” and “Where is Nancy?” outside their doors, has brought Washington to a standstill.
More danger could be on the way. Right-wing extremists online are now threatening additional armed sieges to overrun the U.S. Capitol again and possibly harm or kill lawmakers. The FBI warned on Jan. 11 that “armed protests” are planned at the US Capitol from Jan.17-20 and at up to 50 state capitols Jan. 16-20...more....
